MIAMI, Fla., June 10, 2011 – Rivero Mestre LLP announced today that Jorge A. Mestre has been re-appointed to the American Bar Association’s Coalition on Racial and Ethnic Justice. Mestre will serve for one year beginning August 10, 2011.
The coalition tackles issues related to racial and ethnic prejudice in the justice system by educating lawyers and bar associations through programs designed to eliminate intolerance.
Active in the community, Mestre serves as a member of the board of directors of the Hispanic National Bar Foundation and the Vice-chair of the American Bar Association’s International Law Latin America and Caribbean Committee. In the past, he served as vice-president of the Cuban American Bar Association and as a member of the board of directors of the Dade County Bar Association, two of the largest voluntary bar associations in Florida. He is also an adjunct professor at St. Thomas University School of Law, where he teaches international arbitration.
Mestre’s practice is focused exclusively on commercial litigation, including international arbitration and litigation. He has litigated domestic and international arbitration matters in both English and Spanish.
