MIAMI— Jorge A. Mestre, who serves as president of the Hispanic National Bar Foundation, gave closing remarks at the HNBF’s 2022 Annual Awards Dinner, at the Ritz-Carlton, Washington, D.C., on Thursday, July 14.

Every year, the HNBF honors distinguished leaders and corporations that advance the HNBF’s mission to help Latino students achieve their potential through access to higher education and increase diversity in the legal profession.

This year, the HNBF recognized the outstanding achievements of the following award recipients as part of the Future Latino Leaders Summer Law Institute: Judge Adalberto Jordán of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit; Horacio Gutierrez, Senior Executive Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary of The Walt Disney Company; Jennifer L. Rosato Perea, Dean of DePaul University – College of Law; and Yvette Ostolaza, Management Committee Chair of Sidley Austin LLP.

The Future Latino Leaders Summer Law Institute is a unique program designed to inspire students to pursue careers in law, supporting the HNBF’s mission to increase diversity in the legal profession. The 2022 program in Washington D.C., provided an incredible experience for 26 high school students from across the country to connect with Latino lawyers at major law firms, corporations, and government offices.

Jorge engages exclusively in a commercial-litigation practice and is Board Certified in International Litigation and Arbitration by The Florida Bar. He has litigated domestic and international arbitration matters in both English and Spanish.
