MIAMI — Jorge A. Mestre, immediate past president of the Hispanic National Bar Foundation, delivered closing remarks at the HNBF’s 2026 Annual Awards Dinner at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D.C., in July.
During his remarks, Jorge addressed the 32 high school students and legal professionals in attendance, reflecting on the weight of the profession: “Law isn’t just a career; it’s a responsibility, a sacred responsibility.” He continued: “The law needs your courage, the law needs your voice, the law needs your conviction, the law needs each and every one of you.”
The HNBF is an independent 501(c)(3) organization focused on transforming the legal profession by increasing representation through education, empowerment, and greater access to opportunities for students from high school to law school.
Jorge engages exclusively in commercial litigation practice and is Board Certified in International Litigation and Arbitration by The Florida Bar. He has litigated domestic and international arbitration matters in both English and Spanish. Since joining the board in 2011, Jorge has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the HNBF’s mission.
