MIAMI — Andrés Rivero and Jorge A. Mestre have been recognized in Florida Trend Legal Elite’s inaugural edition of NOTABLE, which features Florida’s top managing partners. They were recognized for leading the firm, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary and continues to achieve remarkable results in some of the highest-profile cases in the U.S. and the world.

In the last couple of years alone, the firm successfully defended Craig Wright, also known as Satoshi Nakamoto, against a $600 billion claim in a federal jury trial that was widely thought to be unwinnable; successfully defended BANTRAB, a major Guatemalan bank, in a Spanish-language ICC arbitration; and prevailed at the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeal, obtaining an important decision regarding Helms-Burton claims that will allow the claims against companies trafficking in properties confiscated by the Cuban government to proceed.

Recipients of Legal Elite are distinguished as top lawyers practicing in Florida, according to the results of the magazine’s statewide attorney surveys. The special issue provides Florida Trend readers with an extensive list of the state’s most prominent attorneys. Less than 2% of active Florida Bar members practicing in Florida appear among the exclusive Florida Legal Elite.
