NEW YORK— The Inter-American Bar Association has appointed Michael A. Fernandez as one of its representatives to the 75th session of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law Working Group II regarding dispute settlement, which is scheduled to be held in New York and online from March 28 – April 1, 2022.

UNCITRAL is the core legal body of the United Nations system in the field of international trade law. With universal membership specializing in commercial law reform worldwide for over 50 years, UNCITRAL’s business is the modernization and harmonization of rules on international business.

Michael’s practice is focused on complex commercial litigation, international arbitration, and regulatory compliance issues. Fluent in Spanish and Portuguese, he has experience representing foreign and domestic companies and individuals involved in arbitrations, litigations, and with investigations in the U.S., as well as parties to international commercial and investment treaty arbitrations conducted under the major international rules including UNCITRAL, ICSID, and ICDR.
