NEW YORK — Michael A. Fernandez will moderate an in-person panel at the International Chamber of Commerce Young Arbitrators Forum entitled “The Application of New York Law in Latin American Arbitrations” at Vinson & Elkins (1114 Avenue of the Americas) on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at 5:30 p.m. ET.

The program will feature two interactive roundtable discussions examining the use of New York law in disputes arising out of Latin America. Panelists will shed light on the decision-making process when choosing New York law, the frequency with which they encounter it in their practice, and other considerations and observations from their experience. A networking session will follow the discussion.

Michael’s practice is focused on complex commercial litigation, international arbitration, and regulatory compliance issues. Fluent in Spanish and Portuguese, he has experience representing foreign and domestic companies and individuals involved in arbitrations, litigations, and with investigations in the U.S., as well as parties to international commercial and investment treaty arbitrations conducted under the major international rules including UNCITRAL, ICSID, and ICDR.
