MIAMI — Andrés Rivero was featured in Berkeley Law’s Annual Report of Philanthropy for giving back to his law school.

As a commercial litigator and founding partner of Rivero Mestre in Miami, ANDRES RIVERO ’86 knows about crunching numbers. But when he wanted to attend law school, the numbers didn’t add up. “My folks are Cuban exiles, and our circumstances were very modest,” Andres says. “I could not have afforded Boalt Hall without the generous scholarship the school offered me.”

Andres now funds scholarships for the next generation of Boalt students, and last year he sponsored a table at the Centennial gala. “I’m keenly aware that my Boalt education and degree have been a condition precedent to the good fortune I’ve had in my career,” says the former federal prosecutor and Greenberg Traurig partner. “It’s important to me that others have the same opportunity I had and that Boalt maintains its excellence and national reputation.”
